The Notre Dame Center for STEM Education engages in interdisciplinary research focused broadly on topics of STEM teaching and learning. Research is conducted collaboratively among faculty and students across campus and with institutions around the United States.

The Kloser Science Education Lab
The Kloser lab explores issues related to cognition and instruction in STEM education, especially K-12 science education. Recently, the lab has focused on three research strands: 1) conceptions of STEM education and their implications for instruction; 2) the correlation between core science instructional practices and student outcomes; and 3) biology education.
The Svarovsky Early Engineering Lab
The Early Engineering Lab explores the design, theory, and practice of early engineering experiences for young learners across a range of educational contexts. Ultimately, we seek to generate knowledge and evidence that contributes to increasing access to high-quality engineering learning opportunities for all children.
The Trinter Mathematics Education Lab
The Mathematics Education Lab focuses on factors associated with teacher development with particular attention toward curriculum studies, technology design, and teacher leadership.
